How testing works with us
From the first inquiry to the test report, possible EXAP and subsequent classification. You don't need to be a standards expert — we'll walk you through every step.
The route to a fire-resistant product
Bringing a product to the market is not a matter of a single test, but a well-thought-out sequence of development, verification, final testing and documentation.
Early on, multiple variants can be tested quickly and cost-effectively in an indicative furnace. Before the final test, we will plan the date, support structure, assembly and possible conditioning of the sample together. Already at this stage, it pays to think through EXAP so that one result can cover as much of the product line as possible.
The test and subsequent evaluation result in a test report. If EXAP is needed for the intended scope, it is prepared after the test and before classification. The classification report then establishes the class achieved and its scope of validity. These documents can serve as a basis for subsequent assessment in the certification process.
The test is a critical moment, but the goal is a trusted product ready for market.
Step by step
Enquiry
You tell us what product you want to test and what fire resistance you need to verify. We will design the procedure, determine the appropriate standard, scope and deadline.
Quotation and order
You will receive a clear offer. After confirmation, we will reserve a date in the test schedule.
Sample preparation
We will confirm the method of transportation, assembly and fitting of the sample in advance. You will know what AFIRE will provide and what you will provide.
Test
We will conduct the test under precisely controlled conditions. We measure temperatures, pressure and the behaviour of the structure.
Evaluation
We will process the measured data and assess the result according to the relevant standard.
Test report
We will issue a test report for the test performed within the scope defined by the test standard. We treat the results and technical documentation as confidential information.
EXAP
If you need to extend the result to other product variants, we will process EXAP before classification, if the relevant rules allow it.
Classification
Based on the test and possible EXAP, we will prepare a classification report according to ČSN EN 13501-2 (e.g. EI 30).
The test can be followed directly by the classification. If an EXAP is needed, the EXAP is processed first and then the classification. We will specify the necessary procedure in advance.
What we will confirm together
The extent of preparation varies by product and type of test. Therefore, before the deadline, we will go through all the essentials and clearly divide what AFIRE will provide and what you will provide.
- final design, number and dimensions of test samples,
- drawings, technical documentation and assembly procedure,
- the required result document and the purpose for which you need it,
- transportation, handling, assembly and placement of the sample in the test frame,
- the possibility of your participation in the test and the method of handling the sample after the test.
On the day of the test
We will confirm your arrival time, entry rules and organisational progress in advance. You will know where to come, what to bring and how the test will be conducted.
Fewer tests, more results
Do you have more product variants? Thanks to the extended application of results (EXAP), the result can be applied to other dimensions or assemblies without having to try everything again — saving time and money.
Agreed schedule
We will confirm the date of the test and the expected date for delivering the result in advance.
Confidentiality
Both sample and data are safe.
